CompTIA Linux + Certification is available!
So I just found out that CompTIA has put out a new certification test. CompTIA has dubbed it the “Linux+” exam and its only $50 for a limited time. Participants are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible as the beta test is only available for a limited time.
On their site it is summarized as assessing, “…overall Linux knowledge, while focusing on the most highly relevant subject matter for IT professionals working in an enterprise environment.” More information on the exam is provided here on the Linux+ info page.
This is exciting news for computer repair techs here in Grand Prairie as well as all over the world. Linux is a open-source operating system used by many individuals as well as enterprise level environments. This is due to its security as well as its interactivity with others such as Microsoft Windows and Mac OS. I always encourage people to switch due to its price and many different flavors. These range all the way from Slackware to Container Linux(formerly CoreOS.) Users can tailor each flavor to fit their own needs. Instead of buying a computer and wondering, “I wonder what this computer can do”, with Linux, you can now ask, “I wonder what I can make this do!”
I’m including a link to the testing site. I hope all my readers head over, signup, and pass. Even if studying for it only provides a better understanding of your own devices, I feel my duty will be complete. If you want to learn more about this or more about your own devices you can always contact us. We provide lessons on your software and hardware as well as free consulting on new purchases.
Have a great day and learn more!
